Like Mario Kart In Real Life: This Speedy Downhill Luge Race In New Zealand

June 12, 2019

This is a video of some fun-loving bros competing in a downhill luge race at the Skyline Luge in Rotorua, New Zealand, where riders can reach speeds over 35MPH. It looks dangerous. And you know how I feel about danger! "You're always claiming it's your middle name even though it isn't." CORRECT.

Keep going for the video, but search Youtube for Skyline Luge Rotorua (there, I did it for you) for more if you're interested.

Thanks again to MSA, who would have red shelled all those suckers to victory.

I didn't see a single banana peel. Mario Kart my ass.

I was there in November of last year, here are some quick facts: there's a winery at the top of the track, that's where I spent my time at the top of the mountain with a nice glass (or four) of pino grigio, not getting road-rash from stem to stern like the lugers we saw on YouTube before going up the mountain (plus when we got there, the track was closed)

Also, Rotorua is sacred land to the Maori for it's hot springs and geysers. Oh, and about that; all the geothermal activity makes the whole town smell like rotten eggs a lot (...A LOT). But there's a cool native heritage center that's the equivalent of Yellow Stone and colonial Williamsburg rolled into one. Oh, and it's an 18 or so hour flight from Alaska, plus a day's drive.

Right! And furthermore, there's a redwood forest out of town that's made up of trees imported from California, so... That's a thing, too....

I think that's everything. Oh, the lady who's house we stayed at introduced us to an NZ custom called "crate day" which is the first day of summer hot enough to grill, then you take a crate of beer to a friend's house and grill out. I like it, we should def have that here.

I was waiting for a punchline that never came. Have a downvote, sir.

Huh? What about "here are some facts" made you think anything but some facts were forthcoming? I feel like I delivered exactly what was promised.

    You must be new here.

There are few places in the world I care about visiting. But this place would get me to go international.

Only one year back I made a decision to stop my earlier work and I am extremely joyful at this point.... I started off doing business over the internet, for a business I located online, for a few hrs on daily basis, and I obtain way more than I did on my office workplace job... My pay-check for last thirty days was 9,000 $... The most advantageous thing about this is the more spare time I got for my children...and that the only requirement for this task is simple typing and also accessibility to internet service... I am also able to put in quality time with my loved ones or friends and also take good care of my kids as well as going on family vacation with them very consistently. Don't ignore this opportunity and be sure to take action fast. See, what it's about... icyderive.guest.de

Call me when they construct the Rainbow Road version.

  • GeneralDisorder

I'm only interested if they make the version of Rainbow Road where there's no side rails and when you inevitably fall off the edge you fall forever.
