Living The Dream: Little Girl Falling Asleep Eating Pizza

May 8, 2019

sleep-pizza.jpg

This is a short video of a little girl who "had just been swimming and was hungry and tired" trying to eat a piece of pizza and sleep at the same time. And let me tell you -- as someone who's spent their entire adult life trying to perfect this art: it isn't easy. She does a pretty good job for an amateur though, 4/5 slices of cheese and a breadstick.

Keep going for the video while I wonder why her parent even bothered with the pepper and carrot strips. And why is that ketchup and not ranch?

Thanks to Lydia, who agrees it's hard when your priorities clash.

These "funny" videos of kids falling asleep while eating are examples of awful parenting. If your kid is that tired when they're supposed to be eating, something is wrong.

The more of your post that I read, the worse it got. It took you 37 seconds to determine that this girl has awful parents. Not just imperfect, but awful. And then you wrote "you're" instead of "your," which was just...well...awful.

Parent-shaming: we need more of it! It's debatable whether the girl's parents are awful for the sole reason that she is so exhausted at meal time. It's less debatable that that was the case AND they felt the need (and thought it funny?) to record and post this video.

ps. The your/you're typo... yeah... it was unfortunate. In my defense, I was busy, rewrote the sentence, and posted without reviewing.

Why isn't she getting enough sleep at night?

Why don't you go swimming for an afternoon?

  • The_Wretched

I'm not allowed out of my cave.

  • Most kids at this age need a nap midday just because their bodies are wearing themselves out with all the growing in addition to the crazy bursts of energy they experience. If it was near her usual nap-time and she was just swimming and playing, it isn't surprising that she would conk out like this. My niece used to do this sort of thing whenever an outing occurred too close to her usual nap-time.

I have a 4.5 year old and a 13 month old and neither kid has EVER been this tired anywhere close to meal time. Most parents put their kids to bed WAY too late and/or don't respect a nap schedule

Hell, I'm in my mid-30s and I need a midday nap.

Kids are adorable sometimes when they're not busy being holy terrors.

Just like many drunken college nights....

I would always pass out before the pizza got there and not answer the door, then get blacklisted from the pizzeria

    "No [pizza] for you!!!"

    Unfortunate.

But at least you weren't leaving it in the oven until noon the next day / when the smoke detector goes off.
