Remember the recently posted Obi Wan Kenobi vs Darth Vader lightsaber battle video that was edited for supposed improvement? Well
hot warm on the heels of that video comes another handful of scenes (including the same lightsaber battle) from Star Wars: A New Hope, this time humorously edited by the folks at Youtube channel Auralnauts with cuts from Rogue One included to reimagine them even better (and lighthearted) than the original. Some more info while I reimagine my life if I'd been born a rich prince, which there's no way wouldn't be better than the original unless I was murdered young for my heir to the throne:
The fix everything ship has sailed. We're on it and there are no lifeboats. It's a one way trip and we have the power of hindsight and a better understanding of the material than the original creators.
So, are they actually better than the original? I suppose it depends on just how comedic you like your space operas (I did like those Han Solo and Princess Leia closeups). Please explain why or why not this is better in a detailed report, and have it on my desk by 5PM. Hard copy please -- I don't know how to work my email. I'd do the analysis myself, but *carefully placing Cinnamon Toast Crunch square under microscope* I'm in the middle of something much more important at the moment.
Keep going for the video.
Thanks to carey, who agrees the best Star Wars has been and always will be the 1978 Christmas Special. It was perfect.
