Guy Tries To Replicate Star Wars Sound Effects With An Electric Guitar

This is a video of musician Davidlap (of playing guitar with hands on fire fame) trying to replicate some of the sound effects from Star Wars with an electric guitar. Specifically: Chewbacca, a blaster, R2-D2, a lightsaber, and Darth Vader. Now not to brag or anything, but I'm somewhat of a semi-pro foley artist myself, and I'm pretty sure this is not how they made those sounds in the movies. "What did they use?" I think a slide whistle.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Rueben, who not only sounds like it, but is, delicious.

When you're using that many effects the guitar is pretty much irrelevant. It's just a controller for the sound synthesis. R2D2 wasn't terrible - Chewbacca was.

    Well that was...something.
