The Future: Demonstration Of Transferring Body Motion From A Source Subject To Another Person

August 24, 2018

This is Everybody Dance Now, a video demonstration of a motion transfer system developed at the University Of California, Berkley that can apply the body motion of a source subject to video of other people. Right now it isn't performed in real-time (it takes a couple minutes of frame-by-frame rendering), but I imagine that will be possible in the future. No word what the illegal face-swapping celebrity p0rn makers think about all this, but the last time I checked they were shooting off fireworks and opening champagne.

Keep going for the video, which, while not perfect, is still very impressive. Full paper on the system HERE if you're interested.

Thanks to Christian, who agrees soon nothing will be real.

With this technology we all will be able to turn our feet backwards and walk forward…

So when can I make Gerard Butler kill for me?

GW's pornographic precognition is on point - this tech is going one place very quickly.

Sadly, this is the only way many of us will ever be able to dance.

I have my doubts that even this in a virtual world would make me look graceful.

This is cool but I think is scary in terms of imagining the power to which it could be abused.

We have people now who can't even tell the difference between real news and The Onion. We have terrorists faking attacks and entire countries going into war over propaganda. Stuff like this is great but I sure hope there are people working to figure out how to protect us from the downsides.

I surely can't be the FIRST to freak out over this.

I run my news through a simple test in order to determine whether I can trust the source. If I agree with the news it is obviously true, if I disagree with the news it is obviously fake. It's that simple and works every time.

  • Jenness

You know, this is actually how like 90% of the people do it now. Only they add the fact that if they feel challenged in any way, then it's oppressing them and hurting their feelings and therefore the person telling the news is a liar and quite possibly Hitler.

    Fact Check: Confirmed
