Body-Cam Footage Of NJ Police Officer Racing To Tell Man He's About To Get Hit By A Train

Note: Seizure/dizziness warning for video, full speed running.

This is the body-cam footage from a rookie cop in Perth Amboy, New Jersey running full speed to yell at a dude to get off the tracks before he gets flattened by an train -- managing to reach him right in the nick of time. How the hell people continue to be so oblivious is beyond me, but I suspect there may have been drugs involved in this case. POWERFUL DRUGS. Like my love, except technically my love is a spell and not a drug.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to PushMyButtons, who I'm really hoping means nipples.

If he was going to kill himself, the absolute emotion in the end when he said "Thank you" made me think that he might have been asking God a lot of questions if he should keep existing, and suddenly..he got an answer.

Although I agree this guy shows signs of being hearing impaired, it's not uncommon for people with perfectly good hearing to be hit by trains. They really aren't as loud as you'd expect. So pro-tip: Don't underestimate your hearing, or do, I don't really care what you do now that I think about it lol.

  • GeneralDisorder

Full edit: it was not confirmed this was a suicide. But if someone saved you from a suicide attempt are you going to admit to the whole world you were trying to die?

News media just said "It is unclear what the man was doing on the tracks" (which I take to mean "dude was trying to die")

  • JJtoob

I think it just means "we don't want to be sued for defamation, so we won't speculate". But you are right, he's unlikely to admit it was attempted suicide if it was.

  • GeneralDisorder

I believe standard police investigation of suspicious death is to treat it as a homicide. So even if a poor white male (i.e. the most likely group to commit suicide) writes a note and pops himself in front of a video camera they don't assume it was a suicide.

  • He was most likely off his dial haha.

    “What do we want?”

    “HEARING AIDS!”

    “When do we want them?”

    “HEARING AIDS!”

    I'll see you in hell.

Have you try to make money over the internet before but then could not achieve profitable results? Well then no need to be worried ever again! For the simple reason that we have coached more than 5 thousand persons around the world & they are really successfully generating five thousand dollars to $10k monthly. All you will need is a laptop and an internet connection, not any technical skill set are needed.Let me reveal what I am doing .... https://norisk22.tumblr.com

The hell is going on in that guy’s skull? He can hear a cop yelling at him, but not the train right behind him?

    Dafuq?

  • GeneralDisorder

The one and only news article I read about it just said "It is unclear what the man was doing on the tracks."

I'm reasonably sure the guy wasn't planning on surviving.

  • Steve

He saw the cop - I don't think he heard either one of them. The way he spoke afterward makes me think he may have been hearing impaired.

  • ben

im sorry but why is nobody asking why the fuck people think its a good idea to walk along active train lines, deaf or not, this guy is deffo deaf and dumb!!!

  • GeneralDisorder

He asked the cop "where did you come from man?"

I'm thinking it was a suicide attempt. I mean, it seems extremely likely all things considered.

  • TheQiwiMan

Ah yeah listening to it again, that guy definitely speaks like he’s hearing impaired, and doesn’t seem to hear the cop asking what his last name is.

Poor guy, glad he didn’t get hurt.

  • Spice Devil

did he really ask were the train came from?

  • Steve

He said 'where'd you come from' and his speech patterns seemed to indicate he was hearing impaired. He didn't hear the cop or the train - he saw the cop. Yes - being nearly or completely deaf and walking on a train track probably isn't smart, but people make mistakes and this guy seemed genuinely thankful the cop was there... I doubt he'll be making the same mistake again.

That had to be a silly Russian
