I'm Flying, Jack!: Personal Jet Suit Agility Test Video

June 20, 2018

This is a video released by Gravity Industries (previously) of their latest jet suit design (with one turbine engine on the back, two attached to each arm) being put through its paces in an agility test over a lake by chasing a man on a jetski. At first I thought he was a kite. It looks pretty agile. It also looks pretty fun, let me take it for a spin. "I'm sorry, but it takes a lot of training to be able to fly the jet suit." Please *pointing* I have all the training I need right here. "Three beers and a quarter bottle of tequila?" I'll be ready in twenty.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Ron, who can't wait for jet suit paintball wars, although I'm not sure how you're gonna be able to hold a gun with jet engines on your wrists.

Are the servos water proof? It's all fine and well to go splash but 1. sinking and 2. wet electronics and mechanicals.

I like the idea of the chase jetski running over the guy after a crash.

  • GeneralDisorder

I love the sound of tiny jet engines. It makes my ears bleed!

  • MustacheHam

well at least the itch is gone...along with the entire sinus.

  • Mark

I was waiting for him to kick the jet skier in the head...ok, too many Bond movies for me perhaps.

  • Meh

That is so awesome. I would've liked to see him try a precision landing on that little floating deck but without it; still very cool.

You all are ignoring the point:
water is really an essential condition for life on earth.
    My teacher was right.

  • Sandy Dmyterko

Awww, I wanted to see him do the Ironman landing. Instead they changed it to the pilot’s point of view.

  • Nicholas Conrad

Wait, but he mostly flew is straight lines or gentle arcs while the jet ski did all the switchbacks under him, sooooo..... not that agile?

  • Tigerh8r

I'm guessing it has the potential to be but he didn't feel like getting wet that day?

  • Wooder

Why put the thrusters on the hands??? he wipes his nose and goes into a tail spin.
I question the whole design, this is better

  • The_Wretched

I agree. Arm based thrusters is just asking for shoulder dislocation or accidental extreme rotation.

  • Andyman7714

He wipes his nose and he burns his face off.

  • Octo

    Because Ironman.

  • Closet Nerd

I imagine it feels like Iron Man when he first learned to fly
