Parents Successfully Sue 30-Year Old Son For Not Moving Out

May 22, 2018

Mark and Christina Rotondo of Syracuse, New York have successfully sued their 30-year old son Michael for refusing to move out of their home. Thank goodness my parents would never do that. Right, mom? You would never do that, right? Wait -- is that a new lock set?

A 30-year-old man was ordered to vacate his parents' Syracuse area home Tuesday after they sued him because he refused to leave.

After the judge's ruling, son Michael Rotondo said, "This is outrageous" and said he would appeal the decision.

Rotondo's parents said he wouldn't leave the house despite several notices. Rotondo claimed that, legally, he wasn't given enough notice to leave, maintaining that six months is a more reasonable timeframe.

Parents Mark and Christina Rotondo said they began giving him notices as early as February 2, 2018. The parents said they also offered their son $1,100 to help him find a place of his own. Michael Rotondo said he did take the money, but it wasn't enough to live anywhere else.

Admittedly, I have to admire his gumption. "No you don't." Whew, what the hell is wrong with this guy? He doesn't even help out around the house? What does he do all day? Do you think he's allowed to have girls over? I remember the last time I had a girl over -- it was to study for a test in college. "How did that go?" We didn't get much studying done if you know what I mean. "What do you mean?" I spent the whole time making s'mores in the microwave.

Thanks to Danby, who agrees you can't expect your allowance if you don't do your chores.

Glad I moved out at age 30 last year.. life may not be so easy but I've been wanting to move out for several years instead of living with my parents. Full of nothing but drama.

Sad...poor kid....stinking parents! So, who is going to change his diapers now?

  • wiggumc1

Wait til he goes out, then change the locks.

Throw his stuff on the curb and be done.

    What a loser.

  • sizzlepants

So... just what have these parents been teaching their child over the last 30 years besides enabled entitlement?

  • GeneralDisorder

Somebody tell his parents I'll solve their problem for $750 (plus travel)

Edit: Syracuse is within driving distance. But I need to replace my car first. Or you know... "borrow one"

    Oh, I remember Larry...

  • GeneralDisorder

I'll never forget about Larry. No matter how I try.

I feel like the part where he accepted the money to move out and then still didn't should be important to this

He's going to appeal? With what money? He can't even afford rent, so how is he going to afford an attorney? Good luck, jagaloon.

    Jagaloon, good one.

I think it's a perfect word and it's the best thing to come from the movie, "Step Brothers"

Never seen it, I hate Will Ferrell.

  • Talon184

    Will Ferrell is awful

  • Megatron Jenkins

Yes, thank you! I've watched a few of his movies, and I just don't like him! He makes me laugh every now and then, but overall, he just needs to go. Except for when I can't see his stupid, goofy-looking face. I LOVE The LEGO Movie and Mastermind.

  • Talon184

He just tries too damn hard to be wacky, zany, over-the-top or whatever. He annoys the Hell out of me.

  • Megatron Jenkins

Team him with John Reilly, and it all goes to hell...
