Guy Mods Early 80's Honda Accord With Tesla Powertrain, Does 0 - 60 in 2.7 Seconds

February 22, 2018

This is a short video of the Teslonda in action, an early 80's Honda Accord that's been modded with (among other things) a Tesla electric powertrain built with pieces salvaged from a Tesla model S and X, and a Chevy Volt battery. It does 0 - 60 in 2.7 seconds, and sounds like an R/C car the entire time. I feel like electric car manufacturers need to start adding some speakers under the hood that blare sound effects when they're running so they don't sound so whirly. Or maybe I'll start my own aftermarket business selling them! Maybe like the sound of a lion roaring or something. "Or a dragon breathing fire!" I mean my idea was better but yours isn't bad and I will include it in my sound effect catalog with zero credit to you.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to hairless, who agrees it would be even better if it actually looked like a stock 80's Accord for bonus surprise factor points.

coz 'Teslaccord' wasn't an awkward enough name

Everyone knows that 'silent' electric cars should be legally required to have sound effects like the cars in 'The Jetsons' cartoon. Anything else is just wrong.

You should be our country's Secretary of Transportation!!!!!!!
Get Mitch McConnell's wife out of there!

I'm only in favor of fake speaker car sounds if you can pick which sounds you want to use. Specifically I want someone to hack a BMW i8 with Jetsons beeping propulsion sound.

Why is it lifted so high in the front? It looks silly like that.

That's how a "Gasser" should be, for proper weight shift to the rear drive wheels.

To make room for the engine's BALLS!!!
Can't have those "meaty metal clackers" scraping the ground!

  • Durosity

No speakers! The world is way too noisy as it is! The quieter cars are the better (we need something better to alert the visually impaired to their presence!)

  • Jenness

I think it should be sounds effects AND a Pimp My Ride style paint/body job too
