Extremely Close Calls: Motorcyclist Loses Control Of His Bike, Slides Perfectly Underneath Semi Truck

February 27, 2018

This is a video of motorcyclist HAMMY MOTO losing control of his bike on the freeway and sliding perfectly underneath a semi truck without getting run over. It's like the opening scene from Christmas Vacation except not funny at all. In his own words while I try to get his guardian angel's number:

I'm very lucky to be alive. I slid through a tiny gap between the trucks rear tires and the trailer stand. If was going any slower or faster, I wouldn't of been so fortunate. The only injuries I got was a very small amount of road rash on my knee and hip.. Nothing broken. I'm very blessed.

So can somebody tell me why he lost control of the bike in the first place? Because all that shaking did not look like it was supposed to happen. That guy is LUCKY. Me? My luck ran out years ago. If this had been me I would have been crushed under the semi, hit by the car behind it, revived briefly by medical staff on the scene but pronounced dead at the hospital, come-to in a morgue drawer and pass out until I'm being buried alive. "Jesus." No, probably Satan if we're being realistic.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Josh M, who agrees somebody should buy a lotto ticket, and that person is clearly not me (I've lost the last 30 scratchers in a row).

That's a wheel wobble. I follow a motovlogger who mentions it's a common issue with many Harley bikes, but of course, it can happen to others. I think this dude is riding a Kawasaki.

  • Andrew

time to buy a stabilizer for the bars.

  • Draco Basileus

    Hardcore Henry 2?

  • James Prewitt

As a truck driver and motorcycle rider that video made me cringe and shit a brick twice

  • shashi

it seems his vehicle has too few wheels

  • zacpdx

Obviously trying to show off and pop a wheelie....idiot

  • Jeff Warner

Front wheel comes loose! Have seen it a few times.

  • zacpdx

    When people are idiots

  • Frédéric Purenne

I would rather take that kind of lucky over the poker player's kind.

  • Bling Nye

Meh, I'd take the gambler's. Maybe it was lucky he survived, but he wasn't lucky to crash in the first place. I'd say luck's negated.

  • Bling Nye

Speedometer being blurred out = "Why no officer, I wasn't speeding."

    High speed wobbles: https://motorbikewriter.com...

  • Michael Knight

i would imagine wind is what caused him to lose control because he was going excessively over the speed limit. notice how the speedometer is all smudged out.
so, not only can he ride a motorcycle better than me he's also a better video editor.
betcha i can drink more liquor though. that reminds me....

This is called a tank-slapper and it usually occurs following a wheelie that wasn't landed properly. Inexperienced riders will try to 'right' the steering when the best thing to do is let your arms go limp and let the oscillations stop naturally.

  • JJtoob

He claims in the video description he didn't do a wheelie. Blames bumpy terrain, and a speed change while putting too much of his weight on the back.

  • zacpdx

    Thank you

  • Joe james

Looks like a kawasaki z1000 Wheelie monsters lol. aka too much bike for him. Kinda hard to be loose with wide bars. A lot of leverage on em.

  • Steve

Yep, it's a 2010 Z1000 for sure. If you can't loosen your grip, letting go might even be safer. Problem is you've got about 0.5 seconds to make the call... lol

  • TheQiwiMan

Nice to see the other motorists stopping to help this guy there at the end. Nothing brightens my day more than seeing kindness from strangers.

  • GeneralDisorder

It's definitely better than people brandishing firearms or attempting to run over motorcyclists just because they're on bikes and "this is my road made for big trucks with big tires, huuurrrrdurrrrrr"
