Slow Down, Grandma!: Mobility Scooter Modded To Have Tesla-Like Acceleration, Top Speed Over 62MPH

December 8, 2017

This is a video of the terrifying 3-wheel electric mobility scooter that somebody modded with insane acceleration capabilities and a top speed over 100km/h (~62MPH). Obviously, this is not your grandma's Hoveround. Also obviously, when I'm older I'm going to build myself one and be the bad boy of the entire retirement village. *almost hits old man crossing the street to the community center for bingo* "What are you, nuts?! Slow down!" At least my pecker works, Arthur!

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Jeffrey S, who wants to know how many people died to make this video.

  • GeneralDisorder

Colin Furze did it already. Granted he used a 125cc bike engine.

  • I wonder how long the batteries last.

  • GeneralDisorder

This depends largely on the battery pack. I'd guess they aren't using an original scooter battery. If it's a lithium ion or lithium iron phosphate battery they can probably go about 100 to 300 miles depending (I really can't tell and the difference in Li-Ion vs LiFePo capacity is kind of drastic).

  • Samuel Chaabane

Probably around 15-20 mins from my experience

  • Karen DeFur Cothran

This will just make it harder for Medicare and Insurance Companies to approve. I was denied a scooter. I have had 4 back surgeries (the last 2 because Of a fall that cracked my L4 L5 which left nerve damage to my Legs.)So this needs to be stopped.

Why wait to be disabled before using your Rascal when you can simply become disabled by using your Rascal?

  • Jenness

I expect to see this all over my town, the old people here ride them like cars as it is with no fear.
