Gold 'Interactive' T-Rex Coin With UV Exposed Skeleton

July 19, 2017

This is the £10 (~$13) Interactive Tyrannosaurus Rex 24 Carat Gold-plated Coin available from The Westminster Collection. Apparently the initial run of 9,500 limited edition coins were released in 2014, but nobody ever told me about it because nobody looks out for me except me, and even I'm not very good at it. Each coin includes a free UV flashlight that you can shine at the t-rex to expose its hidden skeleton. How about that! "Cool, but what's up with that other dinosaur on the front?" You're a terrible person and I'm ashamed to know you.

Keep going for a shot of the hidden skeleton.

Thanks to Pogonophile, who knows what I like, and I like dinosaurs and gold. Plus old lady portraits.

$1=£10... Seems like they're preparing new currency for the post-Brexit economy.

Don't fall for their shit like I did. You aren't buying 1 coin, you are subscribing to a monthly payment where they send you a load of crap you don't want. When you realise and try to cancel, you have to give notice.

    Geekologie --

I like how a T-Rex dinosaur is picked for the story you posted. Aha! He looks like a big chicken.=) I wanna get in line to order dinosaur money to go shopping in the Jurassic era for dinosaur leather wallets, of course, and stegosaurus shaped hats and also frozen dinosaur egg food like the oatmeal I buy at Target -- my favorite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I liked Daisy better.

Daisy is funny, but Kitten is God!!=) She/He has probably been busy fighting Max and also sharks in Never Back Down.=)

Have a nice day, Bling Nye.

Hi, Irina!!! I hope you have a nice time at the lake later today!!!!!!!!!=)

Why does it say 1 Dollar on the coin?

  • Angry_Primate

Cook Islands. Currency is New Zeland dollar or Cook Islands dollar.

    And now you've learned something

  • Irina Abramovich

Dear Scott Whitten -- It says $1 Dollar on the coin because the story as posed on Geekiologie happened during a mid-United Kingdom invasion. I would check your wallet in case the English have attempted to infiltrate US skies and air. FYI. I'm not worried -- I travel to England all the time, even when I stuff all my US money in my mouth for security. Thanks!!
