I Don't See It: A Coffee Table Inspired By Princess Leia's Iconic Hair Buns

This is the Le-a coffee table, a collaboration between Zaha Hadid design and Leblon Delienne. It's supposed to be reminiscent of Princess Leia's iconic hair buns from the original Star Wars trilogy. I...don't see it. Of course I can't see much of anything because I have a sleep mask on so I don't have to look at my coworkers. Out of sight, out of mind -- that's my motto. "Hey GW." I'll kill you, Greg. "This is Adam." I'll kill you too.

The dramatic lines and smooth curves of the coffee table define its distinctive makeup which is infused with Zaha Hadid Design's aesthetic ethos. The twisting and twirling form of the unit makes a direct aesthetic reference to princess leia's signature side buns. The coffee table is available in black, pearl white, silver or brass, according to the Leblon-Delienne website, and it's made of fiber and resin. It can be purchased directly from the brand's website for about $17,387 USD.

Yeah, I still don't see it. If somebody asked me what I thought this table was inspired by I would have guessed matter being sucked into a black hole. But that's just me, and I've got outerspace on the brain. I also have it on my chest in tattoo form. "There's a couple of stars and it says 'THE BIG DUPPER'." Prison tats, man -- you get what you pay for (I paid four cigarettes and a page from a nudie mag).

Keep going for a couple more shots.

Thanks to vishal, who agrees they might as well make it in gold and insist it was inspired by Leia's bikini.
