A-ha's Iconic 'Take On Me' Music Video With The Music Removed, Sound Effects Added

May 11, 2017

This is a shortened version of the music video for A-ha's 1984 classic 'Take On Me', edited by Mario Wienerroither to remove the music (except for the chorus), and with reactive sound effects added. It...doesn't quite have the same charm as the original video. In fact it was kind of unnerving. Man, I remember crushing on that music video so hard when I was growing up. "The babe or the hunk?" Neither -- the henchman with the pipe wrench. In my mind he was the undisputed champion of Whac-A-Mole, and my key to earning an unending supply of prize tickets at Chuck-E-Cheese's. "You still believe that, don't you? I never won't.

Hit the jump for the video, as well as the original for reference.

Thanks to Stephanie B, who's convinced comic book characters really can break out of the page if you believe hard enough.

I too have taken LSD a time or two. I highly recommend it (if you've done something vaguely similar before and have a positive attitude and friends who can make sure you don't kill yourself while you're tripping).

Man, I modeled myself after Morten in the 80s... Oh, and did it ever work for me!
