Neato: How They Allow Crowds To Cross The Race Path During The Boston Marathon

April 19, 2017

This is a video demonstrating how race organizers and police allow crowds to cross the race path during the Boston Marathon. A pretty clever solution. Personally, I would have suggested building ariel walkways, but that's just me and I own a construction company that's notorious for low bidding on government contracts, then following up with some of the shoddiest work you've ever seen, and me on the lam in Mexico. *phone rings, immediately starts climbing out window* No estoy aquí.

Keep going for the video.

Shame about the bottleneck at the pavement and the fact people who want to cross the other way have to wait for everyone to clear first. They should have an in and out gate to make this a more efficient process.... I'm not bored or anything...

It's Aerial and you can't build an Aerial walkway unless it's at least 13'6 and a 13'6 walkway in this small an area would be a mountain climb.

  • Why are you making it a point to capitalize aerial? It isn't a proper noun. And there is such thing as temporary walking bridges for events just like this that would work fine.

There are some aerial walkways in Boston.

I don't know why, but this was so cool to watch.
