Ford Designed A Crib That Replicates Riding In A Car

April 10, 2017

Children: they fall asleep in the car. And so do I, thank God for those rumble strips on the side of the highway. This is the conceptual Max Motor Dreams, a smart crib designed by Ford to replicate the feeling of riding in a car, but not with your head out the window like a dog. That's a shame.

the crib contains LED lights that glow similarly to street lights, and has speakers at the bottom that can make muffled engine sounds for ambient noise. Naturally, it gently vibrates and rocks to mimic a ride in the backseat, and even comes with an app designed to track your car's route so it can reproduce the movements from that drive for your baby.

Cool, but do you know what would make it even more authentic? Me constantly honking and yelling at all the other drivers and giving them the finger. *lays on the horn* STOP TEXTING AND DRIVE. I'll ram you, I mean it. I didn't buy this old pickup to haul anything but ass after I rear-end people who deserve it.

Keep going for a video from Ford España.

Thanks to my buddy D.j., who's holding out for a jetpack crib. Now that's relaxing.

As adorable as this ad was... It really bugs the crap out of me. So what are we doing now? Trying to make the kids of today into gearheads of tomorrow? We want to make them incapable of sleep without car rides or something.

And you know... FORD!! Because Capitalism! Buy a Ford for your pauper dose of happy.

I hear gassing your child with carbon monoxide also works*.

*don't do this unless you're ok with a substantial risk of infant death and the prosecution that follows.

  • Meh

Because you know, once the fossil fuels are all depleted we still want to indoctrinate our children to one day buy a car.

iirc actually running out would take a few centuries(I wanna say over 6? but can't remember the source). that's not the concern when people talk about switching to renewable sources(which is a stupid term because wood and whale oil are technically renewable and they're way shittier than coal by more or less any metric)

Can I get an adult sized one? Please? I can't sleep for sh*t at home in a big nice bed, but always pass right out in a car. Is this weird? I feel like this is weird.

  • Jenness

Still will never beat rocking the precious wretch in your arms while sobbing uncontrollably in exhaustion. Something about the utter defeat that works like a charm every time to get them to sleep.

Yup, breaking their spirit is key
