Note: Picture unrelated, adult driver.
An 8-year old boy in Ohio successfully drove himself and his 4-year old sister to McDonald's after his parents fell asleep and he wanted a cheeseburger. Apparently the boy had watched a quick driving tutorial on Youtube and felt confident taking the family van out for the 1.5 mile trip to Mickey D's. Amazingly, the boy didn't hit anything on the way, an achievement I have yet to unlock during late-night snack runs.
"This kid learned how to drive on YouTube. He probably looked it up for five minutes and then said it was time to go," East Palestine police officer Jacob Koehler told the Morning Journal News.
Witnesses told police that he expertly drove to the fast food joint, following traffic laws and staying under the speed limit.
McDonald's workers said they thought they were being pranked when he drove up to order a cheeseburger with money from his piggy bank.
Police said the 8-year-old burst into tears when he learned that he did something wrong. He told officers that it was his first time behind the wheel.
Sure he TOLD officers it was his first time behind the wheel, but was it really? I've told officers a lot of things that aren't true. Mostly along the lines of 'I've never seen that man before in my life' and 'I was nowhere near that fire when it started!'
Thanks to Randall GL, who would have gone to Taco Bell.
