The Wait Is Over: Spaghetti Noodle Donuts

March 31, 2017

These are the spaghetti donuts baked by Brooklyn-based Pop Pasta and sold at the Brooklyn Makers Market. They come in a variety of flavors including Aglio e Olio, Red Sauce, Zucchini, Carbonara, and Bolognese. Come on, no Heinz ketchup and Kraft grated parmesan flavor? Five year old me is outraged.

Pop Pasta combines a popular Neapolitan dish, the spaghetti pie (frittata di spaghetti) [a leftover pasta dish mixed with egg and fried] with an American food icon, the donut. Slow food meets fast food. ...This is the perfect food to bring to picnics or to the beach, and it isn't messy like pizza! Pop Pasta is baked and you can hold it in one hand. It is perfect for lunch or for a snack, it comes in different flavors and you can eat it at room temperature or warmed up if you wish.

Wow, who knew spaghetti donuts would be 'the perfect food to bring to picnics or to the beach.' *unpacking picnic basket in scenic meadow* Dammit honey, we forgot the spaghetti donuts! Oh well, at least we remembered the wine. *proceed to make sweet, sensual love atop picnic blanket until fire ants invade anus*

Thanks to Hosie, who's already started experimenting baking lasagna croissants.

Sorry but really just don't think this would be good at room temperature even though they say it would be. Seems more like it would taste best heated and with a warm meat sauce drizzled over with Parmesan and then cut into.

  • "I love donuts, but they just don't have ENOUGH CARBS! Thanks Spaghetti Donuts!"

  • Billy G

    Isn't a savory donut just a bagel?

  • David Bass

    Homer say what?

  • Big Dog on Krampus

as always, there exists a Simpsons clip that is appropriate for this specific scenario

  • David Bass

    would totally bang him.
