That Can't Be Good: Guy Pulling G's In A Nitro-Powered Spinning Office Chair

March 23, 2017

This is a video of Farmtruck and AZN (seriously?) from Street Outlaws on the Discovery Channel demonstrating the nitrous-tank powered spinning office chair they built, presumably so they could send the footage to NASA as part of their astronaut job application. I thought for sure he was going to pass out, and I'm still not convinced he didn't just do some sort of long-term damage to himself. Is this what our reality television has become? I remember when the Discovery Channel used to be a respectable network. That feels like it was a lifetime ago. Now, hear me out *tears the top off a Roman candle like Macho Man Randy Savage snapping into a Slim-Jim* a show about a man who eats fireworks!

Hit the jump for the video while I blow chunks.

Thanks to Dave L, who agrees they should have attached helicopter blades to that thing and launched him through the roof.

  • *Initial-D Soundtrack's 'Deja-Vu' begins to play*

  • there was a video floating around the internet back around like, 2004 or 2005 of a warehouse worker on a chair with two tanks, he pops them open and goes flying across the room into a barrel. still wish i could find the video...

  • What a time to find out you have a weak blood vessel in your head. Or you know, a huge number of tiny, fragile ones. Well, had. They're gone now.

  • David Shire

    Discovery channel why :(

  • Kazuka Roo

they want to entertain people. watching ants just doesnt do it anymore

  • Deksam

WHOOO! He got himself some of that!

  • TheQiwiMan

I can't even watch this without feeling nauseous..

  • Titty McNipplefondler

I've assembled many a office chair and I cannot believe that the seat did not come off the post. Those things are just friction fitted together!

  • Could've been one of the old ones w/ bearings & circlips?

  • The_Wretched

At a minimum, he's lucky to still have his ankles unbroken / feet still attached.

  • Gilbert

"How do I apologize to my best friend?"

Well, for starters, with at least a 12 pack, if not a bottle...

  • GeneralDisorder

This is awesome, but there's way better ways to kill yourself. Like this version of the same thing:

Also... the nitrous bottles had actual nitrous oxide in them!?! Idiots! Nitrous oxide is heavier than air. They built a spinning gas chamber.

The nitrous oxide bottles apparently didn't have the same pressure either.

And... finally... speed wobbles. They didn't bother to put much thought into that.

  • Jenness

I hope they took him to the hospital. It's amazing he's alive and he didn't get tipped and slam into the concrete floor. This is really stupid.

  • Bling Nye

    "Hold my beer, watch THIS!"

Wait, this is on the Discovery Channel? Wtf.
