Don't Touch Me: Robotic Gripper Directly Inspired By Octopus Tentacle

March 31, 2017

This is a video demonstration of German robotic firm Festo's Octopus Gripper, a pneumatic robotic arm directly inspired by an octopus tentacle (it's hard to not notice). It can pick things up, it can set things down, it can wiggle its way into your orifices. "What?!" Nothing, nothing, you'll see.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Greg, who agrees the only cool robotic arms are the ones attached to arcade arm wrestling games, which I am great at.

See, what with the name of the company and the appearance of the... apendage, I associate it more with "Fisto" the sexbot from Fallout: New Vegas. You know, the one who's first words are "Assume the position"
