Next Stop, The End Of The Internet: Smash Mouth's 'All Star' Performed Entirely With Windows XP Sounds

February 13, 2017

Because the internet, like the universe, has to have a beginning and an end, this is Smash Mouth's 'All Star' performed entirely with Windows XP sound effects (previously: 'All Star' performed in entirely in C notes). I'm not really sure what else to say about it, except do 'Walkin' On The Sun' next. And by "Do 'Walkin' On The Sun' next" I mean delete this from Youtube and destroy your computer.

Keep going for the video. It's like ear-sex to a computer.

Thanks to balleater, who can taste shapes. What are pyramids like?!

I miss XP - just kidding. I never will wait 15 minutes for one program to load up or to download 1 single freaking song off of a BBS using a crap modem again!!!!!

The last time I installed WinXP it was on a pretty decent quad core machine (core2quad I think) it took around 50 minutes. The last time I installed Xubuntu was on a dual-core machine with 8 GBs of ram (so more memory, less cpu) it took around 15 minutes.

I still have an XP box. While I much prefer my 7 machine, the XP is still running fine. Better than 8.

Are there actually that many different tones of the same high pitched ding? Or are they auto-tuning the windows sounds?

  • GeneralDisorder

I'm thinking they're just tuned. I spent a lot of time digging through sounds on XP and don't recall multiple toned versions.
