This is a video from the folks at Youtube channel Warped Perception (previously: their slow motion popcorn popping videos) demonstrating what it looks like when different fuels burn inside a combustion engine in super slow motion. In this case, regular gasoline, rubbing alcohol, and acetylene. The gasoline goes as expected (because that's what the engine was designed for, after all), but the rubbing alcohol and acetylene do their own things. So the next time you run out of gas and consider filling up with rubbing alcohol, think again. Then call your mom or dad and have them come pick you up because clearly you're at a CVS and not a gas station. "But there's a pump right there!" That's a cart return.

Thanks to Mark B, who only believes in steam engines because apparently he's an uncorrupted robot in Westworld.
