The Last Jedi: Star Wars Episode VIII Has An Official Title

January 23, 2017

Disney has just announced the title of Star Wars Episode VIII. It's The Last Jedi, which also happens to be the title of a Star Wars novel released in 2013. People are also freaking out that the title font is in red, and red = bad. So who is the last Jedi? Is it Luke? Is it Rey? Could it be me? Maybe I'm the last Jedi, did you ever consider that? "No." Maybe that's because I just Jedi mind-tricked you to keep my identity safe so the Sith don't form a hunting party. Seriously though it really is me, mystery solved, you can probably miss catching this one in the theater.

Thanks to everyone who sent this, at least one of whom suggested they should have called it Star Wars Episode VIII: Star Trek.

Jedi is also the plural for Jedi, so we could be talking about a few people.

  • Big Dog on Krampus

it would be interesting (or at least not predictable) if Rey turned to the dark side, Luke died or is killed, and Kylo Ren ends up finding his way back to the light to become the titular last Jedi

  • Doog

Can you really call something not predictable while predicting it will happen?

  • Big Dog on Krampus

i guess not. though, in my defense, i didn't directly predict that. i just smoked bath salts and then violently ran a Fisher-Price corn popper over my keyboard.

the force works in mysterious ways, or as the Jedi say: L'chaim
