Space Invaders Arcade Cabinet Backpack

January 5, 2017

This is the $50 Space Invaders Arcade Cabinet Backpack. It was inspired by the classic arcade version of the game and has a bunch of pockets and the main pocket stays closed via magnets and it has a space invader zipper dangle and you can even put coins in the coin slot (although I'm not sure where they go when you do, kind of like when I used to stuff quarters between the backseats of my parents' car growing up). I remember when I was a kid growing up in Alabama we used to call backpacks, bookbags. Presumably because they were for carrying books. Now nobody carries books, just laptops and tablets and technology. Does anybody still call them bookbags? Maybe we should bring that back. "Nah." Yeah, you're right, I've got bigger fish to fry anyways. "Like what?" I'm thinking about renaming my cat.

Keep going for a bunch of detail shots.

Thanks to Joseph A, who agrees if you encourage people to stick quarters in the coin slot the bag will pay for itself in no time (well, however long it takes to collect 200 quarters anyway).

  • That is far too much money.

$50 and it's just a cheap ass bag? Pass. Charge me $100 and make it a playable game then *shut-up-and-take-my-money*

You know this was made for middle-aged hipsters. No back-pack-aged child gives one single solitary dumptruck about this old game. Hell, I'm middle-aged and I don't give a crap about Space Invaders either.

Marketing to the tiniest of niches is dumb, they're gunna need to charge way more than 50 bucks for these..

I'm curious: does it have a playable version of the game or is it a lenticular screen?

...or are the promo shots just different because they're prototypes of the finished product?
