Real Things That Exist Now: Gelato Flower Cones

January 23, 2017

These are the gelato flowers created by the scoopers at i Creamery in Sydney, Australia, presumably for MAXIMUM HAND STICKINESS. They're gelato cones that look like flowers, that way they can charge all the Instagram like-hungry gelato eaters extra for them. From what I gathered from the gif I included, each petal is individually scooped and placed to form the flower, which might explain why this line is going so ridiculously slow. Seriously I'll just take two scoops please I'm starving over here. You know what forget it where's the nearest Baskin-Robbins? They understand me there I want two banana splits and and an ice cream cake that reads 'Congrats On Eating Those Banana Splits, Champ.'

Keep going for a bunch more pics in every flavor and color.

Thanks to Allyson S, who agrees the best gelato is pronounced Superman ice cream.

not really new i remember seeing these years ago
but of course these guys never saw those....
....this concept was arrived at in an entirely independent manner
can you get a patent on ice cream flowers?
(ha who am i kidding a good lawyer can get you anything you please)

  • TheQiwiMan

This is cool. (And I guess "gelato" is just "ice cream"?)

  • GeneralDisorder

I've tried gelato once and it was terribly unpleasant. Chances are it wasn't "good gelato" but on the other hand, I might have just been expecting ice cream and my expectations ruined it for me.

  • palpable ovaltine

Gelato has a lower ratio of cream to milk, meaning less fat. It is also churned more slowly, meaning less air, making it denser than ice cream.

  • The Magnificent Newtboy

That's superficial and pretentious and I would absolutely buy one and enjoy it.
