Man Arrested For Driving With Hands Behind Head

January 11, 2017

36-year old British driver Richard Newton was recently arrested after officers caught him on video driving for more than thirty seconds with his hands behind his head. For reference, you're never supposed to drive with your hands behind your head.

According to the North Yorkshire Police, his punishment is a 12-month driving ban, 100 hours of community service, and a £625 ($1040) fine with a £60 ($98) surcharge.

Newton argued that he was in control of the vehicle.

Ha, arguing you were in control of the vehicle with your hands behind your head. If I were Richard I would have argued SOMEBODY ELSE was in control of the vehicle. Perhaps somebody you couldn't see. Perhaps somebody in my lap. "A prostitute?" Hey I'm not here to incriminate myself I'm just throwing ideas out there.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Don, who would have used the driving with my knee/penis excuse.
