How To: Make A Mario Question Block Cake Filled With Gold Coins

January 4, 2017

This is a video of baker Rosanna Pansino demonstrating how to make a Mario question mark cake with gold coins inside (those gold foil coins with chocolate inside, not real gold coins, although the process would probably be the same except without me swinging through your kitchen on a rope with a cutlass between my teeth trying to steal the cake). The instructions don't really seem that difficult (recipe and text instructions on her blog HERE) provided you're familiar with cake baking and icing and fondant. If you aren't familiar with those thing then it will probably turn out like a dumpster fire and make its rounds across the internet next to a picture of this Mario question mark cake with the caption 'DELETE UR PINTEREST'.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Damien, who agrees the best cakes are the ones with surprises inside. Particularly a dancer who pops out to sing you Happy Early Retirement.

    Interesting cake.
Had to stop viewing shortly after she started speaking, though.

Paisano steals her ideas from other bloggers, she's the geek community equivalent of Vanilla Ice.

And according to Forbes she made $6 million last year. Whatever she's doing, it's working.

  • Was I the only one to watch this for the cake?
    Yummy, yummy cake!
Now I'll have to bake tomorrow.
    Or buy cake.
    Or some such.

Hmmm yummy cake with very long brown hairs in it.

Thanks a lot GW. I thought I was over my internet stalking problem.

  • Ollie Williams

I'm not going to lie. I watched the video for the hottie, not the cake.

  • She was super annoying.

  • Ollie Williams

Don't be jealous, baby. There is more than enough Ollie to go around.

    So did 674,210 other people.
