Gymnasium Roof Collapses During Floorball Match

January 19, 2017

This is a recent video of a gymnasium's ceiling collapsing during a floorball (iceless hockey) match in the Czech Republic. Apparently the venue had only been open for a couple weeks when the collapse occurred. All staff and players were able to run to safety and allegedly nobody was injured. Obviously, there's still a contractor out there with some explaining to do. *calls contractor for comment, only hears squealing* The first little pig -- I knew it!

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Toad, who just thought it was part of the halftime show. Dammit, there is no halftime in floorball, Toad. It's played in three periods just like hockey.

It's "hockey" man, that's why it's called "ice hockey" when it's played on ice. Is this a jape?

As collapses go that roof failed in a surprisingly safe manner. Imagine if there was a crowd on the stands...

I see you've looked into a map and figured out that there is no Czechslovakia (for 24 years now), but it's Czech Republic and Slovakia. Thanks!

  • Surely ice-less hockey is... hockey (I played it at school).
Unless "floorball" is some how different?

  • Roronoa Zoro

Can't say they didn't bring the house down.
