Chewbacca Rips Off Unkar Plutt's Arm In Deleted Star Wars Episode VII Scene

January 16, 2017

This is a deleted scene from Star Wars Episode VII of Chewbacca ripping off the arm of the Jakku junk boss Unkar Plutt. It does seem a little out of place, but as Hedonistica pointed out, it would have brought some credibility to the scene from A New Hope where Han tells C-3PO that R2-D2 should let Chewbacca win the holographic game of Dejarik they're playing because Wookies are known to pull people's arms out of their sockets when they lose. I remember I got in a fight once and tried to rip the dude's arm off but only managed to pop a couple of his knuckles. Then, you know, I got punched in the face a lot. My poor nose. I can smell my ear.

Keep going for the deleted scene, as well as the Dejarik scene from A New Hope for reference.

    Holy sheet, son!

Yeah, after seeing the previz, the execs quickly learned there's a HUGE difference between seeing an arm lopped off by a magic laser sword, and watching a Wookie rip a dudes fkin arm off at the shoulder.

  • In the extended universe Wookies are almost mythological strong and capable in hand to hand combat. I read something like wookies could lift several tons, and no wookie had ever lost a fight in unarmed combat to another species. (Just from memory, might not be 100% correct)

Seemed so odd that you never really see Wookies doing anything but using a blaster. I don't really like this scene, but to see a Wookie going HAM would be super dope.
