A Murder Of Crows Roosting Atop A Group Of Snowy Trees In Portland

January 19, 2017

Note: Slightly larger version HERE if you're interested. If you're not interested just throw the napkin I wrote my number on in the trash. Don't worry, I'm used to it -- especially right in front of me.

This is a photo of a flock of crows (aka a horde, hover, muster, parcel or murder) roosting in the branches of several large, snow-covered trees in Portland, Oregon. The shot was captured by Portland Police crime scene investigator Walker Berg (great name for a crime scene investigator, by the way), presumably after doing a little bit of whatever the people on those CSI shows do (i.e. enhancing blurry video to crystal-clarity). Beautiful, isn't it? Unfortunately I can't really look at it for that long without being reminded of that summer I got really bad fleas. What was that, 2015? "Why are you scratching?" Man, flea collars don't work for shit.

Thanks to JD, who agrees there is no way those crows aren't up to no good.

They are not crows, they are Jackdaws.

  • GeneralDisorder

Consdering this was taken in Oregon and Jackdaws mostly don't live in the US... I'm gonna say you might be wrong. (And Unidan got what he deserved!)

  • Doog

You must be Ecka6, I presume?

I think we can all agree that they're Corvidae.

  • GeneralDisorder

I don't know what Ecka6 is but vote manipulation is an affront to the system.

  • Doog

Ecka6 and Unidan were having an argument about Crow's and Jackdaws that was the catalyst to Unidan getting banned for vote manipulation
