Oh Wow: An Ultra-Intense Game Of Rock, Paper, Scissors From Japan

December 15, 2016

This is a video of members from Japanese girl idol group AKB48 playing a very intense game of rock, paper, scissors to determine who will be the main idol in a new spin-off group. Admittedly, those are some pretty serious stakes. Sometimes I wish I was in an idol band. I'm not though, I'm only in a Rock Band 4 band and all the other members left me because of creative differences. "You taped an axe to the head of your guitar and tried to hit them with it during Van Morrison's 'Brown Eyed Girl'. Yeah, and they didn't want me to do that -- that's a creative difference.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to cram, who's never lost at rock, paper, scissors because he always picks dynamite. A classic trick!

It's when you realise she was the winner too....

Guys, I've seen this video being passed around a lot, and before you make fun of this poor girl, you need to understand the context here:

About 6 months ago, the mother of the winner Yuria Kizaki (Sadako Ogata Kizaki) was kidnapped by the Yakuza, (also known as gokudō, a transnational organized crime syndicates originating in Japan). From what I read her husband had some gambling debts that got out of hand, so the Yakuza kidnapped her mom, and when her dad couldn't make the ransom payment, they kidnapped and tortured him as well.

Yuria (the winner) was scheduled to go on this silly show, and as a cruel game, the Yakuza told her that if she won, her parents would be returned to her, and if she lost, they would put them to death.

So get off your high horses and learn the backstory before mocking this poor girl!

    :-(

You can see an interview with her (now free) father Baltimora Tarzanboi Kizaki here: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

She looks at her hand like it's betrayed her. Amazing.
