Stephen Hawking: We Have Less Than 1,000 Years Left On Earth Before Extinction

November 18, 2016

Seen here daydreaming about alien lap dances, Stephen Hawking recently stated his belief that humanity has less than 1,000 years before extinction we don't get off this planet. Personally, I'm really hoping that was a gross miscalculation and he added three too many zeros.

'I don't think we will survive another 1,000 years without escaping our fragile planet.'

He said: 'I believe that life on Earth is at an ever-increasing risk of being wiped out by a disaster, such as a sudden nuclear war, a genetically engineered virus, or other dangers,' he said.

'I think the human race has no future if it doesn't go to space.'

Man, I want to go to space so bad. But like, in a spaceship the size of a small city (think Wall-E) so I don't get claustrophobic, because getting shot into space in a tin can sounds terrifying. You'd have to sedate me for that. And by sedate I mean kill, because I would 100% lose my shit and murder the whole crew. NASA -- holler at me.

Thanks to Tam, n0nentity and David F, who give humanity till 2020, tops.

  • I don't know what's really happens in the future in the world. Hawking is famous scientist and i think his research can be true but i have confused that did we live for 1000 more years of our world;

not a warning. a threat. his computer is claiming earth for itself

  • What? His glorified Speak And Spell?

  • Guesticle

you really don't think the hawk has been tinkering with it?

  • Titty McNipplefondler

Personally think this guy is going a little nuts in his old age, with all of his doom and gloom talk. He is probably right though.

The earth isn't fragile, it will be fine. Even life will still be around for a long time. Just not Us.

Says the man who has lived much longer than he should have...

Somebody will live on, even after a virus, or a nuclear war, or whatever. It won't be a happy existence, but it'll be more than nothing.

    1,000 years seems optimistic.

  • GeneralDisorder

I often feel like 20 years is optimistic.

But then there's been a doomsday prophecy at least every month since man was able to fathom an end of days. So I don't put much stock into doomsday prophecies even from someone like Stephen Hawking.

  • Meh

As if one had to be a genius to see that.

After 5 yrs I left my old work and it was a best decision i made in my life... I started working from comfort of my house, over a site I discovered on-line, for a few hrs each day, and I profit now much more than i did on my old job... My last month payment was for 9000 dollars... Amazing thing about this job is the more time i got for my kids...
