Did Somebody Say Kegger?: Indoor/Outdoor Red Party Cup Lights

November 2, 2016

These are the Red Party Cup String Lights made to look like red Solo cups. They cost $20 for a string of ten, which sounds pretty expensive considering you could buy a string of Christmas lights and a 50-pack of red Solo cups for way cheaper. Plus you could make a string with way more than just ten lights on it. I should have my own arts & crafts show on television. Can anybody make that happen? I don't know if you could tell from reading Geekologie, but I have a real bubbly personality. I am like the champagne of personalities. "Somehow I find that hard to believe." SHUT UP, STOP TALKING, GOD. Somebody lift my beer to my lips, I'm parched.

Thanks to Cody, who agrees the key to throwing a successful kegger is not forgetting to buy the keg. I've seen it happen before.

So apparently "GW takes his first trip to Party City" is now post-worthy?

  • GeneralDisorder

Apparently they sell a product almost identical to this at Dollar Tree. And in that store everything is $1. There were something like 10 and they were small red cups. The shot-glass size.

Does anyone else think Toby Keith should be punished for his god damned Red Solo Cup song? I definitely think so.

Since I can't dole out direct punishment I instead offer this YouTube link to his song that he won't get paid for: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

    Suck it!

I notice at the store that the red cups are the ones that sell like crazy. Often, they're almost out of the red ones, but the blue and yellow ones have been barely touched.

I don't buy the red ones just out of spite. (Actually, I buy the store brand clear or white ones because they're the same damn thing but don't cost as much.)

Toby Keith should be punished for several things.

We're not hosting an intergalactic kegger down here

  • Xockszky

Yea, you can make your own for next to nothing. Plus if you do that, you can also use the yellow and blue cups for a bit more colour.

  • Jenness

Yeah, this is a total waste of money

  • It's just lights and cups. It would take you 5 minutes to poke holes in the bottom and push the light through. Instead of like $15 bucks to make a strand of 50 yourself, someone will pay $100+shipping. I'm in the wrong business. (Actually I guess I'm not, I work in ecommerce and thinkgeek is one of my customers... woo!)
