Death Wishes: Motorized Stick Can Propel Skateboarders Up To 30MPH

August 16, 2016

This is a video demonstration of the KickStick from Rise Robotics (real cool name), a stick with a 2.75-horsepower motor and wheel at the bottom that can propel a skateboarder up to 30MPH. It looks like the perfect way to get in an accident or impale yourself. The harder you press on the stick, the faster you go. The stick is collapsible and runs on rechargeable and replaceable batteries so you're never stuck at the bottom of a hill. The stick's creators plan on launching an Indiegogo campaign for its manufacture soon, so keep your eyes peeled if you're interested. No word on price, but you can tow yourself behind my car for free if you have a piece of rope and a death wish. Plus if you get tired you can sit in the trunk. I have a cooler full of Capri-Sun and Sunny D's back there, but I do encourage a small donation if you drink one.

Keep going for a video of all the fun and danger to be had.

    Max Headroom Raking episode?

Air Gears are right around the corner.

He should ride it like a broom stick.

Also - tilt the wheel and mount a blade and you'd have an anime-style hand blender style weapon.

Are you suggesting that quidditch become a real sport played with rollerblades? If you weren't I'm suggesting that right now.

I was gonna suggest a halberd on the non-motorized end, but I like your idea better- Or maybe just a hook, and that way you could sling-shot around light poles and stop signs.

23 seconds in. A disembodied voice shouts "HEY! GET OFF THE RINK!"
