DC Puts Superman/Doomsday Snickers Ad In Middle Of Comic Where They're Actually Fighting

July 14, 2016

This is a photo taken by Twitter user Dave Howlett of Action Comics #959 featuring a Superman vs Doomsday Snickers ad in the middle of a comic where Superman and Doomsday are actually fighting. Apparently at first it seemed like it was part of the comic. Now that is some serious product placement. That said, for $100 I'll casually slide the name of your business into a Geekologie article Bill's Pool Supplies. See? So discrete it was practically subliminal.

Keep going for just a shot of the two panels.

Thanks to Kim, who agrees there's clearly some sort of FCC law or regulation being broke here.

the "after the jump" pic is worthless, we need the pages before for context, see how well this alternate ending flows with the original fight scene

  • Matthew Anderson

What makes you think it's Superman???

  • Turbosloth

Obviously batman, there's a hand with a glove holding the snickers bar, superman doesn't wear gloves. derp

  • Hello

This was a hilarious ad by the way.

It's time to clue you in on comics, and their current place in the world. They don't make any money, and they're now used simply as places to experiment, and pursue SJW bullshit. They still have to be around, since a comic book hero without a comic would be strange, but at this point their about as important as your little toe, or appendix.

  • Hello

Want to know why you're wrong? Because the very same "unimportant" comics could be the source material to the tentpole film you're watching at the movies three years from now.

And believe it or not DC has been diversifying it's universe graciously. That is, without killing off fan favorites and shoehorning new characters in their place. Instead they're developing new characters until they can stand on their own.

  • DFCtomm

Want to know why you're a dumbass? That's what I meant by experiment.
