No Regrets: New Tattoo That Only Lasts A Year, Can Be Altered Or Removed Anytime

Ephemeral is a new proprietary tattoo ink technology that is applied like a traditional tattoo, but can be changed or removed anytime by tracing over the tattoo again with the company's removal solution. Obviously, I am going to win so many bets to get penis tattoos on my arms and face.

Ephemeral is a two-part system, involving an ink designed to break down after a year, along with a separate removal solution.

"Tattoo inks today are permanent because of the fact that the dye molecules are too big for your body's immune system to take away," explains co-founder Anthony Lam. "By using smaller molecules, we've encapsulated them inside this spherical structure that's big enough that your immune system doesn't take it away. But when you remove it, it essentially eats away one of the components and the dye molecules are flushed out."

Clearly this is the route to go if your significant other is pressuring you to get their name tattooed on your body. What kind of person pressures a significant other to get their name tattooed on their body anyways? That is controlling and a clear sign the relationship won't last. I used to have a girl's name tattooed on my body but that's because I wanted it. "What was her name?" Susan B. Anthony.

Thanks to TONY, who got the United States Constitution tattooed on his back because he's convinced that'll let voters know how serious he is when he runs for president.

Sweet turbo. Also a tattoo related meme.

That's neat and all, but wouldn't you just be left with scars in the shape of whatever was tattooed? "Oh, that dick on your face went from solid black to white and pink, good thing you got the removable ink..."

  • Jenness

I'm not into tattoos. And a year is too long for people who aren't into them - and if the ink breaks down - how many months does it even look 'good' before it starts looking kind of crappy? I was more impressed with the under the skin implant that you scanned and could instantly display whatever you wanted through your skin when you passed the communication wand over it.

Speaking as someone covered in tattoos, why in the world would you go through the pain of getting tattooed just to see it wash away in a year? Why not just get a stick on tattoo with no pain at all?

  • dougfunnay

a lot of people enjoy getting them
some people actually get sort of addicted to the high levels of endorphins your body produces to fight the pain

  • The only tattoos I'll have are the lick and stick kind.
    I really hate needles!

Everyone loves the lick and stick kind.

    Oh, you said tattoos...
