Two Anteaters Meet Each Other For The First Time

April 22, 2016

Because Happy Earth Day, this is a video of two northern tamanduas (a species of smaller anteater) meeting for the first time. I think they're in love! They're funny to watch because they look like they move in slow motion. Me? I am a SPEED DEMON. I only have two speeds: asleep, and pedal to the metal. Just kidding, I'm terrified of traveling any faster than 55MPH and if you don't believe me you can ask anybody who's ever driven me somewhere. "It's so pathetic, he starts to panic and cries for you to slow down. That's when I really gas it." Mom! "Anything over 70MPH and he pees himself." Stop!

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to TakeANap, who sounds like a great idea. Tuck me in?

I love how they play this meet/cute music but then casually mention when they are threatened they are up on their hind legs and slash out - which is exactly what they were doing. So the better musical choice would have been death metal.

Why don't people have these as pets??
"Stinky spray 4 times as strong as a skunk"

  • Xockszky

I have heard of people in South America keeping anteaters as pets, to get rid of insects in their house.

For reasons I'd rather not go into, this reminds me of my senior prom.

Okay, who put the miniature sloths' heads in the taffy puller again?
