Colin Furze Built A Functional, Terrifying Hoverbike

April 28, 2016

This is a video of Colin Furze riding his homemade 'hoverbike/human blender' (previously: this hoverbike that's supposed to be available for sale next year if the company hasn't already gone under). It looks terrifying to ride. Colin must have balls of steel or something else that can survive a hit from a propeller blade because it looks like that's exactly what's going to happen constantly. He crashes almost every time and I was waiting to just see blood splatter the camera lens. Thankfully, that did not happen. Colin says the bike is almost impossible to control which, from watching the video, looks accurate. That said, I'd be willing to ride that blindfolded in rush-hour traffic. "That's a death wish!" Death wish? Try death command. Now swing that scythe or I'll do it for you.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Mungo9000, who agrees the ability to steer is relatively important when you're hovering.

Colin Furze makes me proud to be English.

  • Deksam

Man, I wish i was his neighbour, like so bad!!

  • Sandy Dmyterko

One bad tilt away from him having a new project - to see what extreme modifications he could do with his new artificial limb! Need a whole lot more protection over those blades.

  • The_Wretched

Best part is that you can mow your lawn at the same time.

  • Bling Nye

    And give haircuts!

  • shashi

wonder what James Dyson on acid looks like?

  • Cheese

If it were James Dyson he'd charge you £800 just to watch the video.

  • TheQiwiMan

I would try to ride this. Wouldn't be the craziest thing I've ridden.

  • Bling Nye
  • Crazy but cool.

  • Billy Avenue

  • GeneralDisorder

It's ok. He's got his safety squints on.
