Carving A Vase Out Of A Brick Of 256 Melted Crayons

April 1, 2016

This is a video of Youtuber Peter Brown using a lathe to carve a flower vase out of a brick he made from 256 melted crayons. Pretty clever idea considering the vase will be waterproof and all. And who doesn't love the smell of flowers AND crayons? Sure markers smell way better, but you can't make waterproof vases out of them. You know I've melted crayons before. Well, technically the sun did it in the backseat of my parents' rental car when we were on a family vacation in Florida. They threatened to leave me there, which I was actually okay with because I'd already made friends with a turtle earlier that day. What more does a boy need than a turtle friend? "You make a valid argument." I know I do, I was on the debate team in astronaut school. "You're an astronaut?!" YES I AM. Been to outerspace more times than you can count provided you always mistake the alphabet for numbers. "You've been more than J times?!" Sure have, buddy. It's bitchin' as heck up there.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Ali, who tried to make a vase out of those cheap ass Roseart crayons and now there's water all over the table and her flowers are dead.

I love hearing the giggles of an Artist pleased with his craft. :-)

  • Peter Brown is one of my favorite Makers, and this definitely highlights his creativity well!!!

  • Frédéric Purenne

He should have kept the residue on a tarp or paper, to gather and remelt it for another go at something else. =P

  • I'm sure he's gonna do something with it!

That vase looks good enough to eat.
