'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' Performed Entirely With Google Doodles That Produce Music

March 16, 2016

This is a video of the samuraiguitarist (previously) performing a beautiful version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow using interactive Google Doodles that produce sound. It is predominately the theremin one from last week Google made to celebrate Clara Rockmore's 105th birthday. It reminds me of Israel Kamakawiwoʻole's version. I love that song. It is so relaxing and makes me wish I was on a tropical beach somewhere. I'm not on a tropical beach somewhere though, I'm in a fluorescent-lit office building with the air conditioning inhumanly cold staring at a computer screen. I should be staring over my feet in a hammock at the waves crashing on the beach. Maybe there's a guy strolling by selling drinks in coconuts. Maybe there isn't a guy selling drinks in coconuts. There doesn't HAVE to be, but that would make it even nicer. Now I'm depressed. If anybody needs me I'll be taking a nap in my car. "Hose in the tailpipe?" Jesus, not that depressed.

Keep going for the video, as well as IZ's because we all deserve to feel good this afternoon.

Thanks to Lydia, who tried to play Free Bird in a google music doodle but got frustrated and gave up and played Minesweeper instead.
