This is the apartment bedroom that the Art Institute Of Chicago decorated to look just like Van Gogh's painting of his bedroom in Arles, France. It was made to celebrate the Institute displaying all three different paintings he created of the room in the same museum for the first time. "IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM." They're already there, Indy, calm down.
Visitors will experience an immersive journey back to Van Gogh's Yellow House, which is located outside of the museum's campus in Chicago's neighborhood of River North. The bedroom runs for just $10 a night and is part of a larger apartment. Dates will be released through the posting monthly and fill up quickly.
Fill up quickly is probably an understatement. Fill up immediately is more like it. I just looked all the way through the end of October and every night is already booked. I guess my dream of making sweet, sweet love in Van Gogh's bedroom will have to wait for another year. Unlessssss...I hack AirBnB, get the details for everybody who's booked the room, convince one to fall in love with me in the meantime, then invite me to stay in the bedroom when it's their turn. Haha -- it's almost too easy!
Keep going for several closeups.
Thanks to Dee, who wants to stay in a room inspired by a painting of tasteful nudes. Awww yeah, love those things!
