Woman Starts Petition For PG-13 Edit of Deadpool Movie

This is a video of Grace Randolph from Youtube channel Beyond The Trailer discussing why she made a Change.org petition for 20th Century Fox to make a PG-13 edit of Deadpool so an 8-year old's mom will let him go see it. This would not have happened twenty years ago if I was a kid and wanted to see a movie. My parents would have just laughed in my face then locked me out of the house until suppertime. And I would use that time to make a fake beard out of grass and dirt and gone to see the R rated movie anyways, because those were simpler times.

Keep going for a video explaining why children should get whatever they want.

Thanks to Zy, who is hoping for a G rated edit because why not just roll the credits?

I know the movie is already out, but no way will Ryan Reynolds ever let Deadpool flop again. And that means even a PG-13 cut of the film. Matt shouldn't have ever heard of Deadpool in the first place. He's too mature for an 8 year old. So, sorry but either he's gonna grow up without seeing the movie or get the DVD release.

  • fardnasir

deadpool is a R rated character he is not a pg-13c one to make him that woud be disrespecting the franchise so little 8 year old and mom boy get over it and buy the dud when it comes out.

  • Brock Lesnar

LOL! Sorry kid no PG13 Deadpool for you kid! Welcome to suplex city, bitch!!

  • GirlFromSpace

That lady is annoying as fuck. With her dumb ass eyeliner and face.

  • Jacob

You know what? Go ahead and cut a PG-13 version. But, and I'm not sorry kid, you have to wait until it comes out on DVD.

Either you take the chance and take your kid to the R-rated version that is going to theaters, or you do what fans of R-rated films are forced to do when good movies are cut down to PG-13 to appeal to "wider audiences" and wait for the Unrated Cut.

Or, for whatever mom is thinking this is going to do anything, YOU DON'T TAKE YOUR KID TO THE MOVIE AT ALL. Your kid is *8*, four years from being able to see the rating you're striving for to begin with. And this is *Deadpool* even if they caved (hint, they're not) they would push that rating to it's extreme. The graphic nudity the film promises? They'll just pixelate it out, and have Renolds make a joke about it, since the fourth wall means nothing to him. The violence, death, graphic whatevers? They'll just leave it in, blur, bleep and censor it in such a blatant way that it comes off worse than if it was just left alone.

My math may not be the greatest, but isn't (PG-)13 still higher than 8? If you're going to be a bad parent, what difference does the rating make at that point?

  • Huck PS

This lady must be so happy with the insane free publicity she's getting out of this non-sense. Why PG-13 something if the original material is NOT PG-13? Would she want to PG-13 "Fifty Shades of Gray" or "The Shining"?
    Lady, please shut up.

  • Maxime Lanouette

don't care about this little shit, his mother is a fucking cunt. Please Fuck Off kids and wait till your 16

PG-13 movies always have a better chance at making money than R-rated movies because anyone can go see the PG-13 movie, there was a very good chance it was going to be pg13 from the start. I can actually almost see them doing a pg13 recut depending on how close they squeaked into r(swears and some nudity easy to edit out and violence is much more lenient because guts are fine but tits are evil)

they won't but I could easily see them doing it and it wouldn't be the end of the world lol

  • asadachi

I don't think this about her kid, she is getting the attention she desperately craves.

  • Guesticle

doesn't seem like it'd be that hard to do, if somebody was able to edit all three starwars prequels to remove jarjar then the internet could do this too...but the internet seems to hate this lady for some reason

  • aquarius7373

Yeah I was thinking about those anti-cheese star wars too. It would take considerably less computing power to render a cut of Deadpool rated PG-13 I think. I couldn't imagine the movie would make much sense, and probably be under an hour long

  • CaptCapcom

The kid can wait for it to come on Television ...

  • Guesticle

you can bring kids into r if you have an adult

  • Xockszky

I would rather sign a petition to NOT get this movie censored so some spoiled little cunt can have his own way. Hey, if it airs on TBS it will be heavily censored anyway, and he can watch that.

  • John

Started a petition to stop their petition. Now we just need to set a meeting to discuss a series of meetings about meetings to discuss these petitions...

If, and only IF, Fox decides to eventually make a PG-13 cut of the Deadpool movie, I can only hope they constantly and, indeed, INCESSANTLY have Deadpool comment on the fact that Fox only wants to make money throughout the course of the movie as the reason for the PG-13 cut's existence.

PG-13 movies always have a better chance at making money than R-rated movies because anyone can go see the PG-13 movies as "Parental Guidance" is merely suggested.

If the R-rated version is good and the PG-13 version is primarily an ad for the R-rated version in every one of its (obvious) edits, I think we'd have an amazing mixture of box office double-fisting and appropriately Deadpool-level meta humor!

PG-13 'Deadpool' could be the "shareware" version of the real, R-rated 'Deadpool'... marketing magic at work, folks!

  • KindofBlue

This is all for attention, right? Because Ryan Reynolds specifically held out for rated R.And he got it. They aren't going to piss off the star of the show, folks. A petition isn't going to change anything. Hell you'd have been better off setting up a lemonade stand.

  • Keith Gibbons

Just let him watch the R-rated version. With parenting like that he's already going to grow up to be a sociopath. What's the big deal if he hears a bunch of curse words or sees some violence and boobies?

  • Remember when they took the ALIEN franchise and the Predator franchise and mashed them together and made it PG-13 and how well it worked out for both sides and how they went on to become even bigger names in the movie indus.....oh yeah. Sad face.
