Because it's a cold, cruel world we live in, this is a video from a South Korean aquarium of a large sand tiger shark that killed and is trying to swallow a smaller banded hound shark. Apparently the animals were all well fed, and the shark may have attacked the other after getting spooked. PROTIP: Never spook a shark.
The aquarium said the tail is expected to stay in the shark's mouth for about four to five days. Unable to digest the creature, it will then will regurgitate it after about a week, the aquarium added.
"Sharks have their own territory. However, sometimes when they bump against each other, they bite out of astonishment," COEX aquarium PR manager Oh Tae-youp said.
Wait -- the little shark is too big to digest and it's going to be regurgitated after a week? I didn't know sharks puked. That's weird to think about. You think they stand over the sink and heave for awhile or what? That's what I do. I hope somebody's there to document this when it happens though because this is one of those things my brain is telling me I really need to see but I know I'll regret watching afterwards, especially the second and third times.
Keep going for the short video.
Thanks to Lizzy AR, who agrees it's a shark-eat-shark world that we live in.
