Japanese Man Allegedly Captures Ghost Child On Video

December 2, 2015

This is the video from a Japanese man who claims he captured footage of a ghost girl wandering through his home. Obviously, there's a simple explanation for all this, and that explanation is this guy caught a ghost girl wandering around his home on video.

He claimed it was a 'zashiki-warashi', a spirit known to bring good luck

It is first seen floating from the left, before crouching down and disappearing. Moments later it reappears on the right side of the light and appears to hover above it, before vanishing completely.

It's kinda cool that spotting a ghost in Japan can mean good luck. Because all the ghosts I've ever encountered have been there to scare and hurt me. I didn't do shit to you, I just live here! Meanwhile they're going to town flicking the bathroom lights on and off to the point where I don't get any sleep and wake up tired and miserable the next day. Ghosts suck and you can tell them I said that unless they're gonna want to come over and moan about it in which case you can tell them they suck and I sleep with a proton pack.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to OG, who agrees the first thing you should do whenever you spot a ghost is pinch yourself to see if you're dreaming. The second thing is run screaming.

smoke & mirrors...er, just a shitty reflection off the glass. notice how he doesn't move the camera past the edge of the window on the left? dumb.

  • whacko

That is a little kid in a costume being reflected on a large pane of glass that is standing between the camera and the lantern.

Why do ghosts wear clothes? I'd be naked

  • brodyc

That's a great point. Maybe the question should be asked, HOW do they wear clothes? Do the clothes transcend the physical realm also? How do they decide what to wear in the afterlife? Is it the clothes you are wearing when you die? Or what you are buried in? I DEMAND ANSWERS, GHOST!

You know you can make 5% composite videos like this with your mac in imovie,

  • Elak Swindell

Fake. The spirit is showing for way too long and too much detail. If it was a real spirit, you'd be seriously lucky to even get a few seconds of detail that good. Everything about the video is too perfect. Also, the child is not "floating", but clearly walking.

It is a common hypothesis amongst supernatural researchers that in order for spirits, ghosts, etc to fully interact and therefore move objects in our world, they must somehow materialize part of themselves. It's also assumed they can do this via pure energy, but ghosts of the deceased typically attempt to take on a matter form instead of energy as that's what they assumedly remember/are most familiar with.

Whilst I personally don't believe or disbelieve in any supernatural phenomena as currently known instruments of Science do not have the capacity to prove or disprove supernatural events.

"The videographer has scrapped plans to buy a new camera, or at least one made after 2000"

It's amazing what you can do with Adobe AfterEffects

  • TheQiwiMan

You know, I was going to be skeptical that this was a real ghost, until he decided to put this delicate music to the video. Now I'm convinced. You can't argue with science!

  • Too bad this dude didn't have a modern camera - I would have liked to see a 4K ghost.

  • RetroPAT

Why? Then you could obviously see that it's fake...you lose all the magic. :P

Remember the Soviet agent who pretended to be a ghost on Gilligan's Island?

THAT'S what a ghost looks like.

  • Jason Christopher

So this guy just happened to be filming absolutely nothing at all for no reason, and "caught this ghost on tape"?

  • stuffsticks

My favorite point to all these amazing film captures... Hollywood has taught us to never consider the camera and only focus on what we see. but ye seriously, Why was this idiot filming the corner of his room.

  • Hazakabammer

People often have cctv inside their homes to capture burglars. As you can see, he is recording from a screen with this camera. He probably didn't know how to edit a video together (if he did he wouldn't be recording a video of a video) and played music from a separate sound system.

Another reason this person may have had cctv running in his room (and also had the light on) was because he heard noises or things were moving in his sleep. He is clearly frightened enough of something to have a light on in his room.

Whilst I personally don't believe or disbelieve in any supernatural phenomena as currently known instruments of Science do not have the capacity to prove or disprove. I do believe that it's the role of someone to counter argue any point, ala, play the Devil's advocate, if only to enlighten and shed the ignorance of all involved.

Saw that at Disney's Haunted Mansion once.

20 Seconds in, knowing its Japanese, pretty sure this turns out to be a commerical for some holography tech. Either way Japan is sweet.
