Baby Blue Heron Is A Dead Ringer For A Little Dinosaur

December 2, 2015

This is a baby blue heron. It looks like a little dinosaur, doesn't it? That's because birds are the modern descendants of dinosaurs. It really shows. Well, at least in this case. Owls and penguins not so much. What's your favorite kind of bird? Mine are dragonflies. "Dragonflies aren't birds." Well they're not dragons or flies. "They're insects." I'm pretty sure they're related to hummingbirds.

Thanks to Franco, who asked me if I am into dinosaur birds and the answer is no. I only like the oldschool scaly ones.

You've got to be into bird legs/feet though right? I mean they're scaly. Also, the modern theory on dinosaurs has led away from them being scaly like reptiles, blah blah blah, proto-feathers, blah blah, ruffled feathers, blah blah who knows, blah blah archeopteryx, blah blah, no one knows, blah blah full of it.
