Oh Wow: Guy Builds Beautiful, Playable Replica Of The Star Wars Holochess Table Aboard The Millennium Falcon

November 10, 2015

This is a video demonstration of the Star Wars Holochess table replica that Ian Martin of Dejarik Creations built. It's modeled after the Holochess table seen aboard the Millennium Falcon in Revenge Of The Sith when C-3PO watches R2-D2 and Chewbacca play. Ian really did an outstanding job. I wasn't even sure how the game was played before watching the video, but now not only do I think I could play, I think I could beat a droid with only minimal cheating and/or short-circuiting my opponent with spilled drinks. "Hey -- why does R2-D2 smell like stale beer?" MIND YOUR BUSINESS, HAN. "I will shoot first you know." Oh I know, Leia complains about it all the time. "What?!" It's not true, and I'm sorry I keep trying to sabotage your relationship, I just want you for myself. Han -- I...I love you. "I know. And I hate it." Listen -- I know we can never be together, but maybe if I taped a picture of your face to C-3PO's head....

Hit the jump for the video. It really is an impressive piece of work. Plus it plugs into a regular 120V wall receptacle. No need for space power!

Thanks to Lydia, who hustles aliens for galactic credits playing holochess in a back corner of the Mos Eisley Cantina.
