But Will It Help Me Fly?: The Modern Man Cape

November 23, 2015

Capes: they used to be really popular. Now they aren't anymore. But UK based online fashion retailer ASOS is hoping to turn that around by introducing this £30 (~$45) Loungewear Cape. It might be working too because they're currently sold out. Still, I added added one to my Christmas List just in case because I've always fancied myself a modern day Robin Hood. Except of stealing from the rich and giving to the poor I drink beer and play video games.

Keep going for several more photos, then buy a lute and pretend you're a minstrel about to perform for the king during a feast in his honor.

Thanks to Elizabeth, who is convinced capes are going to be this spring's must-have fashion accessory and is already setting up an Etsy store.

Little black riding hood here looks like an elderly dance teacher.

  • TheQiwiMan

I bet a hundred bucks they made 1 of these, then the dude's mom bought it to make him feel better. That's why they're "our of stock".

  • Well he looks a twat.
And who the hell thinks "I think I'll lounge around my house...I'll need a cape for that."
    Ffycin stupid.

  • timeiskey

it does look kind of comfy though.

  • Jay Koski

I could use one for sitting at home and keeping the heater off, but that's totally just a hooded poncho.

  • iofo61

And where the fuck are his shoes? Why is this caped weirdo barefoot?

  • Ian Karssen

I'm more concerned about him wearing tights.

  • They're not tights.
Apparently they're 'meggings' - a word that both sickens me and makes me want to punch someone.

  • Shooting Thepast

Cos it's a lounge cape, that you lounge around in your lounge. And if you're in your lounge, you'll most likely be bare foot rubbing your feet over a protitutes back in front of a comfy home burning fire.

  • iofo61

    No. Just no.

  • Chaz Gomez

In the real world... Its called a Poncho... been around like, I don't know, forever maybe...

  • John Samuel αΩ

A poncho is a square folded in half. A cape is shaped like a cone.

  • Chaz Gomez

A real cape connects to the neck and shoulders and hangs down the back... Does anyone think that Batman, Superman, Darth Vader or Dracula would wear this douchey p.o.s.?

  • dougfunnay

the difference is a would actually wear a poncho
this thing is more decorative and has retarded little arm holes

  • Meh

Here's what's up with these kind of stupid inventions. 1. It looks bad and 2. its not worth the money, even if it were a dollar.

  • GeneralDisorder

A wearable blanket with a hood is totally worth a dollar. There may come a time when I have the flu and I'm shivering and shitting all over the place and the best possible solution is hoodie man-bun cape here. Or I guess I could just wear a fucking sweatshirt like a normal sick person.
