Whoa!: Woman Makes Incredible Pneumatic Articulated Bird Wings For Halloween Costume

October 30, 2015

This is a video of Alexis Noriega demonstrating the pneumatic, articulated bird wings she made for her Halloween costume this year. I bet she's going to be a Ninja Turtle. Alexis promises she's going to put up another video explaining how they work, as well as a tutorial on how to build your own so we can all be birds next year and win our respective costume contests. Plus if I still manage to lose I'll use my wings to knock everybody's drinks off the bar before flying out of there.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to HoldOnTight, who, wait -- why? Is this going to be a bumpy ride?!

Nice design. Hawkman/girl version. Need a angel/archangel one too.

If she isn't already an engineer, then she should be.

Very very cool! (Now to get rid of the fart noise every time they close)

  • palpable ovaltine

That would make a pretty sweet Hawkgirl costume.

Also, the air releasing when the wings close make it sound like she's farting and using her wings to blow the stank away.

    Those look amazing...

There hasn't been a new McLaren F1 since 1998. To buy a McLaren F1 for a lowball price like $850,000 you'd have to work 365 days continuous at $97 per hour just to buy it (that's about 8200 hours and not pay tax on it or anything). If I remember correctly the F1 Road Car exhaust used to cost about $14,000 but due to inflation would probably cost about $20,000 now. Tires would only last a short time and would likely cost between $1000 and $5000 per set depending what kind of compound you want.

I'm not sure about oil change but I'm finding a minimum of around $8000 per change. There's other wear parts that would need replacement over time too like wheel bearings which for all I know you can't buy from anywhere but McLaren directly and probably can only have licensed McLaren dealers service.

Maybe at $97 per hour you could afford a McLaren't kit car version of the F1. But a real-deal F1, of which only 106 were made and of those 71 were made for the street...

I know you're a brainless spam bot and I've reported you as such but at least make up remotely believable lies. Instead of "new McLaren F1" maybe "used Porsche Cayenne".
