Handgun Fire Captured At 73,000 Frames A Second

ultra-slowmo-gun-firing.jpg

This is a short video from Mythbusters of a handgun being fired and captured at 73,000 frames per second using a Phantom camera. That provides some super slow-motion footage. What's up with that mushroom cloud coming out of the barrel? Is that nuclear in nature? I'm gonna be honest, I'm not very smart and I've just kinda been coasting through life on my good looks alone. "You look like a piece of shit got hit with a bat into a ceiling fan." I said I was COASTING, I didn't say I was living the dream now did I?

Hit the jump for the video.

Cool, now if they can do it underwater they'll only be 2 years behind these YouTubers https://youtu.be/OubvTOHWTm...

    That's nothing. This one's at 1mil fps, and it's old. https://www.youtube.com/wat...

I'm pretty sure there are dozens of slow-mo videos of various firearms being fired already in existence.

Yep. There are. This is still cool, though. God Bless America.

Nice to see a condensed episode of MythBusters where they cut out all the filler. This is about right, usually about 1 minute if interesting entertainment, stretched over 45 minutes..
