First Person POV Video From Back Of Hammerhead Shark

July 9, 2015

This is a video of some diver who straps a Go-Pro to a hammerhead shark's fin to capture a first person point of view from the shark's back. How do you attach a Go-Pro to the back of a hammerhead shark? VERY CAREFULLY. Just kidding, this guy goes at it with reckless abandon and almost puts his hand in the shark's mouth. You ever put your fingers in a shark's mouth before? Feel free to leave a one-handed comment telling us all about it.

Keep going for the video, which is available in 4K resolution for ULTRA HIGH DEFINITIONS. Get high and pretend you're Merman!

Thanks to David, who agrees hammerheads would make the perfect giant sharks to ride into battle because you can attach all sorts of laser guns and harpoon blasters to their eye stalks for extra firepower.

Could you imagine if it turned around and attacked the diver and got the whole thing on film?

Now he just need a laser in your head!

"First Person POV" isn't one of those redundant?

I wish they would have stated exactly where in the world that was. That water was so clear - gorgeous and relaxing, well until he jumped right in the middle of Main Street in SharkTown LOL

How they get that damn camera back from that shark? I call Fake!!!

  • They killed it. Duh.

  • Fredrik Pettersen

One can find the answer to that at the end of the clip. But I'm pretty sure you already knew this. Or what Mr.Troll?

  • Jason Christopher

I just watched the whole video, and I'm missing the part where he gets it back as well.

The shark turns over on it's side. The screen cuts out, but it's assumed that the shark rubbed it's fin against the sand and dislodged the camera.

Also assumed: the camera had a GPS locator attached and was designed to float to the surface for easy location.

Alternatively: they just put it on the shark without thinking about any of this and just hoped for the best, then got lucky

  • Jordan Nass

Apparently I missed that, too, because I wondered the same thing.
